Irwin Allen followed up the success of ‘The Lost World’ and ‘Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea with the film ‘Five Weeks in a Balloon’, based on the Jules Verne. The film featured a large cast and an interesting vehicle. The Jupiter is a powered hot air balloon invented by Professor Ferguson. This painting of a ‘What If’ AURORA model kit of the day. shows an enlarged section of the hot air balloon - the interesting bit.
This page has a full version of the aircraft.
