SPECTRUM PURSUIT VEHICLE from Gerry Anderson’s 1968 TV Series ‘Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons’

In terms of the impressive array of futuristic hardware featured in the show, the S.P.V. was the star! A well armoured, high speed vehicle with the unusual feature that the occupants sit facing backwards and navigate via video monitor. The SPVs were hidden at various locations - discarded trailers, storage areas, disused oil tanks and the like. This picture shows an SPV bursting through the metal doors to a deserted garage. An imagined scene, but typical of what would happen in the tv show. It was always fun to see where the SPV would be hidden in that particular episode. !
