CAVORSPHERE
From the 1964 science fiction film ‘THE FIRST MEN IN THE MOON’, adapted from the novel by H.G. Wells.
The spherical spacecraft is powered by an anti-gravity material called ‘Cavorite’. Shutters coated in Cavorite can be opened or closed to steer the ship. Railway buffers cover the shell to allow for a safe - if a little bouncy - landing.
Designed (I believe) by Ray Harryhausen
