AIR-SEA RESCUE/SEAHAWK

This ia comissioned piece I did which features the aircraft originally seen in the Thunderbirds episode ‘Operation Crash-Dive’. the air sea rescue aircraft were part of ‘operation sea-hawk’, where they were sent out to locate a missing Fireflash airliner. The same design was usded in ‘The Imposters’ with World Navy livery.

This great looking aircraft was craeted by Derek Meddings model crew using parts from plastic model kits from a F104 Starfighter and B58 Hustler, and possibly a MiG 21 to form this new design.

This commissioned painting shows the aircraft in Royal Navy livery, similar to what you would see on a Sea harrier in the 1970s.

I tried to capture the feeling of some of the memorable RAF paintings, like some I had seen at RAF Museum Hendon.
