NEPTUNE Submarine
From the 1981 James Bond adventure ‘For Your Eyes Only’. Directed by John Glen
This two person submersible is used by James Bond and Martina Havelock to investigate the wreck of the St Georges ‘spy ship’. The Greek islands create a memorable location above and below the waves.
The submarine was purpose built for the movie, designed by Peter Lamont and realised as both a full scale working prop and a minaiture supervised by Derek Meddings.
This ‘What if.‘ Airfix box top assumes a 1/32nd scale kit. The sub was 23 feet long, making the kit 21cm or 7 inches in length. This feels like whote plastic would be the way to go. would eb nice to get figures of Bond and martian seated inside.
