USEV HYPERION - DEEPQUEST (2)

The HYPERION was designed for a SUPER 8 film called ‘DEEPQUEST’ made with my friend DAVID HICKS in the 1980s.

The ship is designated USEV - United Sciences and Exploration Vessel. The 6ft model made for that film was destroyed during filming.

This model is half the size (36” / 90cm long) and I had to find kit-bash details to match the large scale original. Fortunately a 1/600th scale model kit of the German WW2 Battleship Bismarck was the source of many of the original parts, and I was able to find a 1/1200th scale kit for this one! The model is made from wood and cardboard.
