MiG-242 - from JOE 90

The MiG 242 features in the first episode of the Gerry Anderson TV Series ‘JOE 90’. This model is a custom project that started life with an AIRFIX ‘Angel Interceptor’ from ‘Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons’ approx.1/72nd scale and a MINICRAFT 1/144 scale ‘General Dynamics F-111 Aadvark’ kit. The original model designed and built by Derek Meddings’ VFX team for ‘Joe 90’ and was itself cannibalised from an an original Angel Interceptor model (approx 1/24th scale), and parts from a 1/48 scale F-111. The kits I was starting with were 1/3rd the size of the original!
