GABRIEL - Model T Ford from ‘The Secret Service’ TV Series created by GERRY ANDERSON

‘The Secret Service’ was the final programme made by Gerry Anderson’s Century 21 Productions utilising ‘Supermarionation’,

The show featured less of the hallmark sci-fi elements and hardware than previous shows. The main vehicle was ‘Gabriel’ a bright yellow Model T Ford, owned by the main character Father Unwin played by comic actor Stanley Unwin. The episdoes were made using a combination of live action actors and locations and Supermarionation puppets and sets and models. All in all, quite an odd show.

This is a painting I did for FANDERSON. The artwork started out as a one of the vigneetes I created for the ‘The Secret Service Annual’ - End Papers artwork. This was then reworked for the Fab Challenge card game,. And then re-worked again with detail added, including an improved likeness of Father Unwin for an upcoming Fanderson event.
