THE GLASS TOWER

Celebrating the 1974 film ‘THE TOWERING INFERNO’ produced by IRWIN ALLEN.

This is a poster that I made up that would be announcing the opening of The Glass Tower, which in the movie was designed by Paul Newman’s character Doug Roberts.

Behind the scenes the tower was, I believe, designed by JOSEPH MUSSO and WILLIAM CREBER and realised via elaborate miniature effects supervised by L.B. ABBOTT. The ‘Duncan Enterprises’ logo is seen on the Helicopter in the opening title sequence. The film takes place on the opening day of the Tower and the film itself opened on December 14th 1974.
