OPTICAL PRINTER

This graphic celebrates the Optical Printer, invented in 1927 and developed by LINWOOD G DUNN. It was used and prominently in the creation of the visual effects for ‘KING KONG’ and ‘CITIZEN KANE’, where it enabled unprecedented post-production manipulation of filmed elements.
