WHOMOBILE and BESSIE from the 1973/74 series of ‘Doctor Who’ Starring Jon Pertwee
In the Jon Pertwee era, which was based on earth - the Doctor drove around in Bessie. A souped up, bright yellow 1910s ers roadster. This was contruced specially for the production using the chassis of a contemporay car and suitably fashsioned body work to look like an elegant Edwardien era car. In a couple.of later episodes we get to see the Whomobile which resembles.a futuristic-looking fairground bumper car - metallic sparkly silver paint included! Apparently Jon Pertwee himslef was behind the Whomobile, commissiong the working himself.
The Whomobile appears in the story ‘Invasion of the Dinosaurs’ and ‘Planet of the Spiders’.
I could imaigne a nice kit of these two vehicles in 1/32nd with figures of the Doctor and Jo Grant (Katy Manning).
