SPECTRUM HOVERCRAFT

From the classic 1967 TV Series ‘Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons’ created by GERRY ANDERSON

A hallmark of the Anderson shows was the impressive array of futuristic vehicles all conveyed with great credibility by Derek Meddinsgs’ superb miniature special effects. The Spectrum Hovercraft is a classic. It appears in only one episode (Traitor), but it is featured heavily as the story involves recurring crashes during routine training and Captains Scarlet and Blue investigate.

A model kit of this vehicle, would be in 1/72nd scale as Airfix produced their two real Hovercraft kits in the scales used for their aircraft. The giant SRN4 in 1/144 scale like the comparable airliners and the much smaller SRN1 in 1/72nd, compared with the maller scale AFVs and vehicles which came in 1/76th.

This kit would be approxiamtely 10” in length. White plastic? the WW2 Luftwaffe light blue?
