THE PROTEUS

From the 1966 sci-fi classic ‘fantastic voyage’.

AURORA did many kits of sci-fi ships - The SEAVIEW and FLYING SUB from ‘Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea’. The flying saucer from ‘The Invaders’, the ‘SPINDRIFT’ from ‘Land of the Giants’ and more. They even did ‘The VOYAGER’ from the cartoon series of ‘fantastic voyage’. ..but not the Proteus from the film!

This artwork imagines what a kit-box might have looked like. I intentionally avoided any ‘red’ as this may have been deemed too bloody as Aurora were often getting negative parental feedback on their kits and box art. In the movie itself, the body interiors are not red.
