MAX’s MODELS - ‘THE RED BARON’
Based on the YouTube channel ‘Max’s Models’. (2006 to the present)
This is a commissioned piece for Max’s Models. Max is model kit enthusiast based in the USA. He is a fan of all model kits - old and new, good and less good - and grew up making model kits in the golden age of the 1950s and 60s when Hawk, Airfix, Monogram,Revell, and Aurora were at their peak.
This artwork shows Max and his Gloo Trooper buddy, driving his red 2007 Ford Mustang Convertible ‘The Red Baron’ with a stack of kits piled high and the ever present Honey the cat - ‘she who must be obeyed’ - sitting on the hood. The car is speeding out of the Max’s Modelling den the TARBIS (which I believe stands for Tamiya And Revell Boxes In Stash), like the Batmobile departing from the Bat Cave.
The Max and Gloo Trooper designs are from Max’s channel. The car, the Tarbis and Honey are more true to life. Two of the kits that can be made out (just) are the Revell 1/32nd Spitfire - one of Max’s favourite box tops - and the Aurora Godzilla (Max is a huge Kaiju and Godzilla fan!).
