LIBERATOR

In the 1970s Matchbox started making model kits. Some offbeat subjects of real aircraft, and they issued the Star Trek The Motion Picture model kits in the UK.

Blakes 7 (the logo never had the apostrophe) was a popular show and the Liberator remains a favourite among sci-fi fans. Matchbox moulded their kits in either 2 or 3 colours, as encouragement for young modellers who did not feel comfortable painting the models. Sometimes, the subject did not lend itself to multiple colours and the Liberator is an example of this. The colours would be White of course, maybe brown (as an approximation of the gold and the red) and maybe a lighter grey. The bubble power source would come in a tinted green / clear plastic.
