MARTIAN SPACE PROBE ROCKET
The Martian Space Probe is seen in Gerry Anderson’s classic 1965 TV series, THUNDERBIRDS.
In the episode ‘Day Of Disaster’ the rocket is being transported across the Allington Suspension Bridge to it’s launch site. But the bridge collapses under the weight of the giant ship and its transporter and International Rescue are called in to save the two technicians trapped on board. But the rocket never makes it to Mars and ends up in pieces at the bottom of the Allington River. This picture imagines the ship successfully carrying out its mission to Mars.
At 1/144 scale it would be a big kit, akin to the famous Airfix Saturn V kit. - over 2 feet tall. And like the other ‘real spacecraft’ in their line, this would almost certainly come in white styrene.
